Property Fraud is when someone illegally uses your property for financial gain.
An instance of this entails someone recording a fraudulent deed and/or lien against your property in the Official Records of the
Taylor County Clerk’s Office.
By registering with the Property Fraud and Recording Notification Service may
be the first step in protecting your property.
Signing up for this service alerts you to recorded activity on your property in Taylor County, Florida,
but does not prevent fraudulent activity from taking place.
The recording notification provides an early warning system for subscribers
to become aware of what may have otherwise gone undetected.
Subscribers armed with this information will be able to take prompt and
appropriate action if they determine the activity to be fraudulent.
If you are alerted to a transaction and believe it to be fraudulent,
you must contact law enforcement to report it and/or, if you consider it to be warranted, take appropriate legal action.
You may access your registration information to view, add or
delete registered names at any time by using the same email address that you used for your initial registration and by
following the same process.
The Clerk's Office works to ensure the accurate recording of all
official documents, including legal description, Parcel IDs and party names as long as the documents meet the recording requirements.
However, the Clerk's Office makes no warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy of these records.
The Taylor County Clerk of Court’s
Office assists subscribers in using the Property Fraud and Recording Notification Service, but the subscriber is ultimately
responsible for providing and maintaining valid email addresses and entering correct party name information.
